One night I was on my way to Miho's house when I heard construction sounds coming from the cute store that had been on my mind ever since I first saw it.
They sold unique, pretty items; so many colourful bags, shoes and candles.
I peeked inside and saw a bunch of long bamboo sticks on the floor.
There was a man decorating the wall with the bamboo sticks, one by one.
I looked around and it seemed never ending.
He noticed me and suddenly he asked, "What time will you finish?".
I was surprised that he had talked to me but I told him I'd probably finish sometime in the morning.
He asked me if I could stop by then and at the time I wasn't sure what he meant but I agreed anyway.
The next morning I went to the shop and the floor that was once covered in bamboo was now clear and the walls were beautifully decorated with each bamboo stick tightly packed together.
He had created a wonderful and comfortable space.
That was how I met my mentor Jacob, an unforgettable encounter.
